Betsy's operation went extremely well yesterday. The surgeon was able to do both procedures laparoscopically. Her recovery, as far as getting off the ventilator, isn't going as smoothly as we hoped. It is requiring a lot of extra intervention~ lasix, albuterol breathing treatments, CPT (chest physical therapy) and a blood transfusion. An X-ray revealed that her right upper lung had collapsed.
I am terrified. Yesterday, we saw her breathing on her own with all parts of her lungs open, and now, after a surgery that we decided for her have, she is facing tremendous challenges. I decided to document everything only because one day she will look back healthy and strong and be able to see all she overcame.
