Last night we found out that Dane weighs OVER 5lbs and Estelle is OVER 4!! The kids are packin' on the pounds!! We love it!
Dane 5lbs 2oz
Estelle 4lbs 6oz
Betsy 3lbs 13oz (She's catching up!)
When I arrived at the hospital yesterday I immediately called David at work and told him that he must come look at Estelle- she looked different. I swear something happens when they pass 4lbs, their faces fill out :) I noticed it instantly in her cheeks! Needless to say David came up to see for himself at lunch!
Little Betsy is making up for lost time. She is doing fabulously with her feedings AND they were able to turn off her rate on her CPAP!! From my understanding (I'm always hesitant to explain things!) the rate refers to the number of breaths delivered by the machine. She is doing SO well especially when you consider she was the smallest, faced a possible infection and spent multiple days on antibiotics thus without feedings. She's a trooper :)
The past few days these hats have been the talk of the NICU. Why? David made them!! While on bed-rest I received a hat knitting kit. I am not so great at reading instructions, so David said he would get one started to figure it out and then teach me. Well, he completed one hat and then asked if I wanted to do the rest. Now, one baby couldn't have a hand-knitted hat from their daddy and the other two have one from me! So he made the rest!! The nurses LOVE them and find David even more endearing than before :)
| Pretty cute right?!? The kids wear these now when we hold them! Dane might outgrow his soon... |
